Man Utd are reportedly keeping tabs on Lazio’s backup goalkeeper Christos Mandas who has been delivering impressive displays between the sticks over the last month or so.

The Biancocelesti signed the Greek custodian last summer, and he’s been acting as an understudy for the club’s Number One, Ivan Provedel. But with the latter out with an injury since March, the 22-year-old proved to be a reliable option for Igor Tudor, producing remarkable displays. In his seven Serie A appearances this season, Mandas registered four clean sheets and only conceded four goals.

So according to Unitedinfocus.com (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the goalkeeper’s exploits have attracted the attention of Manchester United who are considering a move for the Greece U21 international.

The source believes the Red Devils could sell their second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayındır who could return to Turkiye through the gates of Tranbzonspor. Hence, the Premier League giants would like to invest in Mandas who would initially play second-fiddle to Andre Onana.

As the report tells it, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is planning to send his young goalkeeper out on loan so he can play on a regular basis in order to earn valuable experience. Nevertheless, the patron would be willing to listen to Man Utd’s offer.

The Biancocelesti only paid €1.30 million to sign Mandas from Crete FC last summer, tying him to a contract valid until June 2028.
